Well, it's remarkable what a few months time can do. To comment on two issues in my own post above:

the only way you can get DCC gold discs right now is to serendipitously find them on the shelves of stores that once stocked them where they did not sell already.
|
Well, that serendipity extends to online. Since my post above, I've gone back on Amazon.com for the first time in quite a while (to build quite the Wish List if anyone reading this is in a gift-buying mood

). There has been a remarkable influx of "Amazon Marketplace Sellers" since my last spending time at the site: brick-and-mortar retailers that are becoming click-and-mortar by parterning with Amazon to take part of their business online.
Hi Fi Records in Chicago is such a business and I recently purchased the DCC
Empire from them after a link showed up upon searching for the title by name at Amazon. Resaonably-priced, prompt delivery and pleasant e-mail from a guy named Tim in the Chicago store.

Of course, all this begs the question: has anyone heard of a possible DVD-A release of Empire?
|
Here's the kicker: as I say here
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...threadid=7671, Capitol has announced a DVD-A release of
Empire. "Would you like to know more?" No release date to my knowledge as of this typing. E-mail if you wish and I'll reply when I hear of a date.
Cheers,
Paul
