Tesla's Real to Reel

Didn't know about this until I heard the "Thank You" cover at Sonic, but it looks like a heck of a set of songs. "Hand Me Down World" and "Bell Bottom Blues" are two songs that are lesser known than others by those bands, but songs I love.

Real to Reel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The "Thank You" cover is pretty awesome:

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

Tesla's just an awesome band to begin with. I grew up listening to "Love Song" and "Hang Tough" which was a fist pumping anthem in my day. I still own all thier albums. Rock at it's finest.

Yep. They cut through all the hair band mess back then and "kept it real," to use a cliche I don't particularly care for.

Wow, that's a pretty bad a*s cover!!! Always liked these guys...

Did we really need yet another cover of "War Pigs" though???

Insert clever line here--->

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

I wish they'd of just put disc 2 in the album. I'll proably never get it.... The first disc sure is good, even War Pigs.

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

Rachael -

Disc two is available. They release it for sale back in Sept. Lots of good stuff on it.

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

I'll look for it Chad. When I bought the first disc, it said somethin' about getting disc 2 if you bought a concert ticket or somethin' like that. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

When disk 1 was released, Tesla was giving away disk 2 to anyone that attended one of their most recent tour dates. After that part of the tour was done they released to those of us that couldn't attend one of those show.

Looks like 2008 is going to be a busy year for the band. They are working on a new album and a box set that sounds awesome.

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

Hey Chad, I finally got it....I'm on war pigs now.... I like the first one better but this one has it's merits. They actually cover an Alice Cooper song....I really like their Sly Stone cover too. Another listen and I'll proably like it as much as the first 'un.....

Re: Tesla's Real to Reel

Sweet - Glad you like it.

There are some really good songs on both. I loved their version of Saturday Night Special and Street Fighting Man.

They are filming their concert tonight for a DVD release. I'm pretty sure it is going to be for their box set that is coming out sometime after Christmas. I'm trying to find a way to getting there to see it. The show is just about sold out. They've sold over 4000 tickets for the show tonight.
