Re: Top Albums of 2007 - "Time to throw down!"
The Dead C's Future Artists was the standout of 2007 for me. The band is as engaging and imaginative as ever.

didn't you get Porcupine Tree's Fear of a Blank Planet? (reviews, on signal>noise)
best album of 2007 for me especially since its a DVD-Audio, not to mention the fact that Alex Lifeson plays the solo on Anesthetize
The surround mix is as good as Beatles' LOVE DVD-Audio which would be #2 i think (this deservedly beat FoaBP to the surround Grammy)
Also liked Wilco's Sky Blue Sky a lot, and in a similar vein, Blackfield II

Re: Top Albums of 2007 - "Time to throw down!"
(In no order)
Amy Winehouse- Back to Black
Rihanna- Good Girl Gone Bad
Bruce Springsteen- Magic
MIA- Kala
Lady Sovereign- Public Warning (Late 06 release that I heard in 07 so Im counting it! ) If you can handle rap at all Give Lady Sov a spin. She is very funny and her wordplay is insane.
I DJ so I listen to all types of music.

Strangely enough, no I haven't picked up FoaBP yet. Thanks for the reminder!
I got Edenbridge's The Grand Design since my other post. It's excellent.
I also want to check out the Sick Puppies since I won a guitar autographed by them.

Re: Top Albums of 2007 - "Time to throw down!"
I've heard of Riverside. Is that the Polish prog-metal band? I think Amazon sometimes suggests that one for me when I open the front page.

Yup. Second Life Syndrome is very good - standalone or you can take it as the middle part of a trilogy of albums
Reality Dream trilogy
Out of Myself (2003)
Second Life Syndrome (2005)
Rapid Eye Movement (2007)
