This is the love letter Rush fans have been waiting for! C'mon Nov 22!
Apparantly, there are some who don't feel this way. This was a review listed on Amazon.com:
How does the greatest band in the world celebrate their 30th anniversary? By giving us a DVD with (count 'em) EIGHT songs missing from the set. Never know to be in touch with the cult following of die-hard fans that they have, Rush has disappointed many times when it comes to past concert releases, although, given the nature of VHS and it's time constraints, it was acceptable, this isn't. This Rush release is sure to leave many-a-fan disenchanted. Go for Rush in Rio and take a "Pass" on this one. I'm sure they'll double dip and release a "special edtion" HD-DVD version in the future with the missing songs to milk the fans some more.
This reviewer (not me) gave the DVD a one star rating even though he has not seen the final product.
I, personally, love the "counter" review in response to the above review:
I was disappointed on behalf of Rush when I learned, from (person's name removed) incisive review of R30 DVD, that the product is of poor quality. I had been really looking forward to this release considering the 14 HD cameras, 16:9 format, 5.1 Surround, superior lighting, performance, historical context, liner notes, interviews, photographs, packaging, unseen studio footage from the 70s, etc. Oh wait - Rod Stiffington HASN'T ACTUALLY SEEN (or heard) the DVD! He gives it one star not because of the performance, video or sound quality, but because the band decided only 22 of 30 songs were performed well enough or appropriate enough (read: non-redundant) for inclusion! I feel so depraved, so "robbed", so under-appreciated! Maybe Rush had good reasons to eliminate a few tunes. Ya THINK? I'll give R30 five stars in advance to counter (removed name) utterly useless assessment.

Looks like it also includes a song from the SARS benefit as well.
I guess that's the current name of Neil's drum solo?

I haven't looked up the translation, but I assume it is the same as Rush in Rio's O'Baterista which means "The Drummer".

A Google search of Trommler found this: http://www.muth.org/Robert/Trommler/
An X11/GTK based Linux drum machine?
Yeah, it sucks they cut out 8 tunes, but I'm not complaining. Let 'em release it again in HD-DVD in a few years with those songs added and I'll be the first in line once again. Now where's the Exit Stage Left and GUP DVD's?

I'll get it the day it comes out too. Man, that was a good concert. It's probably my favorite of the 3 or 4 I've seen.

Good grief -- I thought that Amazon vetted reviews before posting them!

The eight songs that are missing are repeats from the Rush in Rio DVD. So, suffice to say, not a big loss, however, Rush in Rio was a mess from the 5.1 and non-anamorphic standpoint. However, I'll take the removal of those eight tracks for what we're getting with this set.
Now, as said above, where the heck are the Exit... Stage Left and Grace Under Pressure DVDs?

Thx for the Billboard link, Jason H. Looking forward to all four contemplated DVD releases.
Exit Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and A Show of Hands ". . . are being revamped," Lee says. "I think . . . Alex . . . spent a good chunk of last year remixing all of those things for 5.1, and they should come out over the next couple of years. Maybe even in the next year, on a DVD. I think they're going to come out separately, from what I'm told. But I'm not sure about that."
"[O]ver the next couple of years"? "I'm not sure about that"? Am tired of comments like these from Ged wherein he sounds like he doesn't know what the frick is going on with his own band's releases by the label.

Often, band members don't know, because things are handled at the record label level.
