i really like this album a lot!
a much better release then 18. i would call this more in-line with play. hotel has some nice catchy upbeat songs, with more vocals from moby himself. even the slower songs have a nice chill vibe to them - slow, melodic, but well paced.
when it comes to layers, textures, and those little electronic nuances, i think moby is one of the best out there - and hotel proves he's still got the creative juices flowing.
i think he's in a shinier happier place these days.
standout tracks include "lift me up", "very", and "slipping away". however, his cover of new order's "temptation" drives me crazy.
i would give this a solid "A"
