Most of her stateside releases are on WEA, so I'd look for DVD-A. If Warner doesn't move quick on it, I'll definitely try to pick up a couple of import SACDs (the exchange rate is brutal right now...the Vespertine SACD goes for $30-$35).

August 30 sees the launch of the new studio album – Medulla – from Björk. Record company, Universal Music, has announced its intention to release this stunning new album first as a special Limited Edition CD and Super Audio CD. The album will be released on the One Little Indian label in the UK and Polydor elsewhere.

"Björk fans that crave more of their favourite artist’s work in high-resolution Super Audio CD will be pleased to hear that following on from the release of Verpertine on the format, Universal Music intends to re-release the singer’s complete catalogue as hybrid Super Audio CDs in September. These titles will be introduced within Universal’s mid-price range.
Oh man, I can't wait for these!

Medulla is available for preorder on both SACD and DVD-A from Amazon UK for 12 UKP (about $22). Shipping usually gets offset by the fact that we don't have to pay VAT.

Choice is good.

Well, this puts a little sugar in my cubes.

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

Is this the same one you see?
long link

I guess they don't ID it as SACD or DVDA because the hybrid is the only initial release? I see it as 14.99 UKP, not 12 UKP.

Doug

You're looking at the U.S import on Elektra in that link. If you put in a search for Medulla you should come up with all the available versions, including the DVD-A and SACD on U.K label One Little Indian.

Will

Beat me to it! Looks like you found them.

Format is irrelevant.

Just gimme that pagan poet Icicle Girl in multi-channel hi-res!

Vespertine is a stunner in DVD-A.

Patiently waiting for Medulla . . .

My charge for Medulla from amazon.co.uk came to a little over 10 pounds after the VAT was subtracted. Of course, the shipping adds a lot more back, but the total is around $20 USD. Not bad...

I'm loving Vespertine, too. I just put my mains on spikes (they were directly on a wood floor w/ no carpet and the resonance of some mid-bass frequencies was annoying) and put gel thingies between my center and the idiot box. When I listened to Vespertine yesterday, the slightly edgy quality had balanced out somewhat and it sounded wonderful (more wonderful than it used to!).

Regards,
Doug
