Columbia House: What Happened to Classical Music?

I've been a member of C. House for about a decade, and haven't really purchased much from them in the last few years. I noticed that they no longer seem to have any classical selections. Did they stop stocking these? Is there a separate club for classical music now?

Curious...

They moved all classical club members off their lists and Musical Heritage Society bought the list of members. No more classical from Columbia.

I joined Musical Heritage some months ago. Can't say I'm thrilled, though it is nice not to have to wade through all the other varieties of music.

Yeah, they transferred all of us classical (and jazz) geeks over to the Muscial Heritage Society. Actually, it ain't too bad: I just got a shipment of CDs in today; most of them were $5-7 (plus the outrageous shipping and handling; some things don't change).

Todays shipment:
Buddy Rich Big Band: Keep the Customer Satisfied
Stan Kenton: The Innovations Orchestra
GRP All-Star Big Band
Nat King Cole: Night Lights
Fiedler/Boston Pops: HiFi
Taneyev: The Oresteia/Symphony #4 (The Philharmonia/Jarvi)
Mahler: Symphony #5 (Berliner Philharmoniker/von Karajan)

Come on, big guy, I'm ready for you!

Actually I haven't listened to the disc yet. And while I enjoy classical and jazz, I'd be the first to admit I'm no expert. I even like Marty Gold.

Ironically, any jazz-heads who stayed with CoHo will now get transferred to BMG (given the former's acquisition by the latter) and BMG has maintained some semblance of jazz selections.
