I stumbled across Kill your Idols at Borders last night. It's a collection of album reviews by young music critics, each of whom skewers a celebrated rock album, everything from Sgt. Pepper's and Pet Sounds to Exodus and Horses to OK Computer and Yankee, Hotel, Foxtrot.

I skimmed a few chapters a found some of it good for a laugh, but most of it seemed less like real criticism and more of an attempt at entertainment (at which, for my money, it didn't succeed). I'd be interested to hear what others might think.

I don't think it's going to hurt the sales of Led Zeppelin IV or Blood on the Tracks anytime soon.
