My question concerned whether GYBR's wonderful, color lyric illustrations by David Larkham and Michael Ross that were in the MFSL liners are in the DVD-A's liners. Not only is the answer thankfully "yes," but there is also an essay about the album by John Tobler and a center page that includes reproductions of the recording studio track note sheets with handwriting by the recording engineer and a typed "Jamaica Jerk-Off" lyric sheet with lots of handwritten notes. The paper, however, is not the heavier card stock like the MFSL. Here's hoping your SACD's liners are identical (just smaller!).
It's too bad the "Classic Albums" DVD is a 50-minute truncated version of that 90-minute program, but I note that it's available for as cheap as $6 via Amazon Marketplace and is Netflixable.

Has anyone purchased any of Surround Records' Blu-ray Discs or HD DVDs? If so, what do you think of them?

Those are both nice. I got 'em when they came out. This is why it's so hard for me to buy any discs anymore....I already got 'em, if I really wanted 'em.
There's a John Mayer Blu-ray comin' out. I'm thinkin' about gettin' it if it's not priced too outrageously. It'd be my 2nd music BD, I already have Pat Metheny.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I've still got a load of SACDs on my wish list over at SACD.net (sadly, some of them have gone OOP and are now quite expensive--same with some DVD-As). With two kids, a mortgage, a new roof and, well, life to deal with, I don't always get to buy what I want when I want it.
How is the Methany in "blu"? I've seen a few musical titles in "blu" that I plan to get once I get a player (there are a few HD DVD musical discs available--I have an A2--but I don't have an HDMI receiver so I prefer to wait for the "blu" versions as I plan to buy either the Panny BD50 or Sony S550 with MCH analogue outputs).

Rachael, how is the sound quality on those music BluRays?

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I just have the one music BD, Metheny, and I have not watched it about 6 months but I'd say the SQ is very good. I'd of proably bought a few more of the titles but I've seldom seen them on sale. I'd like to get the New Orleans Concert sometime. If they get off the $30 pricetags, I'd be a bit more receptive.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
If I may interject, Lee, the sq reviews on all of the major BD music releases have ranged from very good to ebullient. As I know you're aware, John Mayer is a Sony artist and Sony has released the best-reviewed music BD title WRT sq yet, the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Live At Radio City release.
