Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
Yes, Al, we can both cite examples to support our comments; that's why I said "yes and no." The "seminal"/classic/popular/audiophile albums can command higher prices. I bought half the titles on your list 'back in the day' knowing those might be somewhat harder to come by in the future.
But I have about 70 other titles on my high rez Amazon Wish List that generally have multiple copies available for under ~$25. And it's been that way for literally years.
And yeah, Tony, you link to the Deluxe CD + DVD-A Running On Empty for $23 while some poor schlepper may buy the standalone DVD-A used for $100. Per my post back on January 30, I just got that Deluxe, two EJ SACDs, a Dual and a Marvin Gaye CD for $43 shipped from BMG.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I totally forgot to mention this: I got Derek and the Dominos - Layla Hybrid SACD a while back. I've never heard Layla on LP so I can't comment on how it should sound originally, but I thought the album was fantastic. I've only listened to the stereo SACD part, but Layla just brought tears to my eyes.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes time, and it annoys the pig.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
......well, the Sack-Dee selection just keeps declining outside of classical. It's been months since I bought one. I'm thinking about buying the Rickie Lee Jones but I don't wanna pay $30 for it. So, I may pass on it or wait and see if it goes on sale. I don't know of a single other title that I really, really want as of late.
