Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I got two SA-CD's, Zen by Zazie and Sean Noonan's Brewed By Noon Stories To Tell.
Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.
I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
The latest Genesis boxed SACD set (with PAL DVDs) that was temporarily priced at 25.99$ at Amazon.com. I've made copies of my order and the web page (in pdf) so I plan to hold them to that price (or, at least, let me cancel the order if the subsquently added "sourcing fee" of 170$ is added to my bill).

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I didn't really purchase these titles, it was a swap for a couple CD's not available in the U.S.
'461 Ocean Boulevard', 'Slowhand' & The Carpenters' 'Singles 1969-1981' SACD's.
The Clapton's are great, but the Carpenters' SACD (M/C tracks) leaves people mesmerized.
Everyone I've played it for gets cranky when I stop play.
It is captivating... and the disc was a 'bonus' in the trade.
simplicity is genius...

I have those three and all are still available at yourmusic.com. I am not a Carpenter's fan, but that really is a nice compilation in surround. I just ordered the last two SACD's from yourmusic.com I think I want, but I won't be sure until I get them:
Serenada Schizophrana–Danny Elfman SACD
Globe Sessions - Sheryl Crow SACD

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
Berlioz: Requiem. Roger Norrington and the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
I have a couple other Requiems, notably the Munch/Boston on LP and SACD. It has been my benchmark for 35 years or so. This new recording has some odd tempos but absolutely spectacular sound. Berlioz wrote this work in and for surround sound in 1837. Four brass choirs at the four points of the compass as well as full orchestra and chorus. Listening in full SACD surround today with the trumpets, horns, trombones, and tubas all around me at about 100dB was overwhelming. Damn!
