Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?

are you sure? i have the same exact copy but when i put it into my player, there is no SACD layer found. i was HOPING for sacd since that's his best compilation:

http://amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_i_1/00...%2Ci%3Apopular
^none of those state SACD or hybrid SACD. it's just a DSD transfer.

can you confirm? if so, i have to make an exchange. i got this fairly recent.

i'm going to have to do some investigating:

No sacd multi ch layer. When i play a stereo sacd i need to push a sacd button to play it othwise if its multi-ch i just pop it in and it plays.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?

just using the Stones abkco's as example the first issue in the sleeves were all sacd.
it is not indicated on the packageing ont the outside.
but you know they are sacd because of the packaging.
they are reissued in jewel cases and lose the sacd layer.

that picture above looks like a sleeve not a jewel case and it says sacd right on the bottom.

so did anyone actuall play the sacd layer to hear the truth?

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?

ABKCO did this will all their initial SACD releases.

The SACD's were released in digipaks, then the follow up DSD CD's were released in jewel cases 'with the same UPC/Item codes'.

Rolling Stones, Sam Cooke, Herman's Hermits, The Animals. Confusin eh......

If it is a digipak, it is SACD. Unfortunately when you buy online you take your chances as the guy who fills the order looks at the UPC code and there is no difference between the SACD and CD. I had the same problem with Stones 1 disc from amazon who kept sending me the DSD CD for the SACD. Finally cancelled the order for a refund. In the same order were 2 other Stones SACD's which arrived in digipaks as ordered. If I had not known the jewel case one was not SACD I would have opened it and not been able to return it.
