I already knew that. My dad had the vinyl back in the 60's. My dad listened to Bream, Segovia, Los Indios Tabajaras....if they had guitars and shunned rock and kuntry, he liked it. I remembered how good Bream was. My dad was a stiff about music but even he was on to some good things.
Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
Off topic but,
My Dad got me listening to Blues and more 'traditional' Jazz and I got him listening to Rock, Prog Rock and Heavy Metal when I was in my teens (early 70's). It was not uncommon to come home late and find my Dad listening to Dark Side Of The Moon at a good volume and the genres he had me listen to I still listen to today.
I already listened to any form of Guitar music as I play myself. I have been lucky enough to meet Liona Boyd after a concert and chat about music. Interesting to note that Bream was the one who started her along to learn Classical Guitar (after she heard one of his concerts). She also trained under Bream himself for a while, then Segovia.

Paul, the only way my dad was gonna listen to Dark Side Of The Moon would of been if my sister and I bound and gaged him and forced him.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
I went on a Porcupine Tree binge last week. I ordered:
Stupid Dream - cd and DVDA
In Absentia - DVDA
Deadwing - DVDA
I'll order the new album "Fear of a Blank Planet" when the DVDA is out. "Lightbulb Sun" is supposed to come out on DVDA this year as well.

Liona Boyd's "Persona" would be a great hi-rez release (it was released by CBS originally)....in addition to her playing, it featured guests like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Yo-Yo Ma, and the late Michael Kamen.

Danny - yes, that would make a VG release. I have it on either LP or CD (I suspect the original LP from the late 80's) somewhere..... I liked the album because it was so different especially with the guest artists, but I still favour the more 'traditional' guitar work she does. I have a signed LP 'Miniatures For Guitar' from that concert/chat. Since she is known as 'Canada's First Lady Of Guitar' it was pretty amazing for me at that time to sit down and speak with her one to one.
BTW I added my SACD collection on sa-cd.net ref your posts on another Forum - thanks.

Julian Bream Living Stereo SACD. Fantastic.
no fears alone at night she's sailing through the crowd
in her ears the phones are tight and the music's playing loud

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
For those of you that recently purchased the Bream (re)release, this looks very interesting soon to be released by Telarc:
http://www.telarc.com/sacd/title.asp...9SVVD1S9MC99F6
Same release date as Hiromi's new SACD - Time Control which I'll definately be picking up.

Lee - thanks for starting this thread. I take recommendations regularly from here.

Re: What Hirez Discs Have You Purchased Recently?
Heads up...Fragile is back in stock at CDUniverse. Bought it for a buddy of mine who had procrastinated until he couldn't find it anymore!
