I got Miles Davis' On The Corner SACD today. It sounded good on the "little" system....
Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.
I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

I can't pass up the opportunity to hear Foreigner on SACD, so I got the soundtrack of "Footloose" on SACD. Also, picked up Toto's "Hydra" on SACD as well. "White Sister" sounds great on hi-rez.

I think someone posted after Rachael on the 1st and before your post above, Danny, and now it's gone. A software upgrade gremlin?
Danny, not unlike my questions about Top Gun, plz do tell re Footloose in terms of s.q. The SE content is on there, yeah--the 12" "Playin' With the Boys"?
And how's Hydra?

Paul.S, here're some initial thoughts....
Like "Top Gun", the "Footloose" SACD sounds pretty good. Not audiophile quality, but there's certain sense that everything just sounded right. Of course, the songs don't really push the sonic envelope either. However, there are still some surprises....the Sammy Hager track....quite an improvement over the typically bright Van Halen CDs. I can just imagine those "Van Hager" albums sounding this good. Same with John Mellencamp's "Hurt So Good". Just as the "Top Gun" SACD has the dance mix of "Playing With The Boys", "Footloose" has the 12" mix of Shalamar's "Dancing in the Sheets" (remix done by Jellybean Benitez).
Hydra....hmmmm....some songs reminded me of Genesis. Definitely not pop but more prog rock. The production doesn't seem to have the same amount of polish as Toto IV. There are instances where everything sounded mashed together. Given the numbers of instruments used in a typical Toto song, this sounded not so good. Certainly not as smooth sounding as "Footloose".

Danny - how is the mix on SACD Room For Squares? A review in another Forum has said the Dual Disc mix was not received well, and I have to assume that this is the same one transferred to SACD....?? I'm interested in picking this one up.
Another purchase for me:
CCR - Cosmo's Factory SACD
Merry Christmas everyone (at least where I am right now)!
