PaulT,
Don't let Mahler's minor key version of Frere Jacques put you off. What he does with it is astounding. I started with the 2nd over 30 years ago. Still get goose bumps. But be prepared for a big choral finale. Doesn't matter if you don't understand German. All the discs have translations. "Resurrection" is a good name for the Symphony. And there's a children's choir in the 3rd. Will knock your socks off (Bim Bam, bim bam)!

| BTW, since my CD/DVD of Power Station is backordered at yourmusic.com |
I know it's (unfortunately) not hi rez, but plz drop in with some comments, especially on the DVD, once you get this re-release, Danny. Love this album and am quite excited about this remastered re-release with new material.

It looks like my alternative choice of Sheryl Crow's "Globe Sessions" SACD is also backordered at yourmusic.com
On the other hand, received my MoFi EW&F SACD.
Paul.S....I will start another thread on the Power Station reissue.

Lee,
I listened to the EW&F SACD last night (twice!) and it was excellent. I've never owned anything from MoFi or EW&F, so I went in not knowing what to expect. The overall sound is very VERY dynamic, yet very smooth. The separation between all the instruments, and there're a lot of them, is quite amazing. This SACD ranks up there with Steely Dan's "Gaucho" in terms of sound quality. The SACD contains the full album plus several previously unreleased demos. All sounded excellent.

Danny, all the, few, unfortueatly, Mofi SA-CD's sound as good as E, W & F or maybe better. Try an Aimee Mann or Dave Alvin or Kinks or Los Lobos....
Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

more Bob Dylan hybrid SACDs:
Bringing It All Back Home
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
"That's The Way of the World" is on my wish list but I can't bring myself to cough up $28 for a CD that I have purchased twice(original CBS/Sony Japan and Legacy re-mastered with bonus tracks).

I know I am a hypocrite....
Even though I started this thread, I just purchased Celine Dion's SACD of "All The Way....A Decade of Song"
Thanks for the MoFi recommendations, Rachael. My poor wallet....

Speaking of MoFi and reading another thread here, I see some of you have the Aimee Mann 'Lost In Space' SACD. I have listened to sound clips from that album and 'Bachelor No.2' and like them both. For the 30 dollar hit, which one would you prefer (and why)?
Danny - you should be ashamed of yourself .

PaulT! I like Lost In Space better. I like it's songs better. It's reasonable to prefer the other one though! Alot of folks think Bachelor is her best album. Me, I think 'Til Tuesday's debut is HER best album. Of the solo stuff I like Lost In Space the best but barely. I wish Mofi would do more of her or her 'Til Tuesday stuff, particularly the first album...! Plea-eeeeeee-se!
