Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue - SACD (Mobile Fidelity)

Paul.S - what did you think of Tony Bennett/kd lang SACD?
Some of the material was fantastic IMHO, but on other songs Bennett's voice sounded 'stretched' a bit - perhaps the keys of the songs when he was singing with lang. I have Invincible Summer DVD-A and would kill for a release of Ingenue in Hi-Rez (Constant Craving and Miss Chatelaine would be awesome in 5.1).

Weather Report's Black Market SACD....

I ordered it from Red Trumpet last spring and suprise, suprise, it finally came. I suppose somebody finally found a copy in some dusty corner of Tokyo. It's a nice album like any of their's but I wish my fav Mr. Gone was on Sack-Dee...

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

That's my favourite Weather Report album--but I held off on ordering because of the price. Did you get a discount or do you feel it's worth the premium price?

Paul, I just got stupid and ordered it. It the 3rd Japanese import I've paid way too much for....the other two being one of my very favourite albums, Santana's Caravanseri and Return To Forever's Romantic Warrior.

I can see how it could be your fav. For a long time my fav was I Sing The Body Electric, till Mr. Gone came out.

Is it worth it? Well, proably not but it's destined to be a rare release and proably will only go up in value. It'd be smarter to buy gold or rare coins or real estate as an invesment but none of them sound as good. I have no regrets as I've already listened to it about 5 times. It is well done, no doubt. The price does suck! Actually, I'd given up hope it would ever ship to me.

Either of you have 'Heavy Weather'? Birdland was great on LP, trying to decide to order the 'stereo' only SACD.

Of course I have it! If they release any more Weather Report or Joe Zawinul, I'll have it as fast as I can snap my fingers. M/C or not never enters my purchase decisions.
