AC/DC: Back in Black Dual Disc

I wouldn't consider this release Hi-res as the DVD side is only 16/48 PCM.

Dome: Do you mind commenting on the BiB DVD side's contents? Is there anything substantive on there? Trying to decide if I wanna double dip on this title. -p

Please do comment, I would also like to know. Is there much difference between the CD side (which I assume is the same as the remastered CD they put out a year or two ago (and which I own)) and the PCM 16bit/48KHz DVD side?

That's one of my favorite CDs. I didn't even know an SACD was available. Does it contain a surround mix?

It's supposed to, according to SA-CD.net. It's in the mail, so I'm eagerly awaiting it. It was highly recommended to me by my jazz musician friend.

It sounds slightly better, and I only double-dipped because I love AC/DC. I kind of wished it was 5.1 like the other DVD album I have (Fleetwood Mac Rumours).

I'll do a more comprehensive comparison later.

I have the Harnancourt Mozart Requium

Ditto for Rubenstein's Chopin Ballads

How's the Boston Baroque? I have their Bach Orchestral Suites--also a great disc.

Thx for the Mozart "Requiem" tip, Allen. Do you concur with PaulDA's 'two thumbs up'?

Btw, does anyone have this Sony SACD Ultimate Collection?

How's the Boston Baroque?

I really like the period instrument sound (our church choir director brings in a period instrument orchestra to accompany our "bigger stuff" that we do at least once or twice a year, so I've gotten spoiled/used to it ).
I don't think you can go wrong w/ baroque on the Telarc label, as far as recording quality and SACD - assuming you like period instruments and/or classical music, of course.

I have it on again right now.
If you like Mozart's choral works, this is very, very good stuff - it's "big" and rich - chorus with brass/string accompaniment, mostly - it "feels" like a live performance in a good-sized cathedral. But then, I've not been disappointed with ANY of the SACDs I've bought so far - maybe b/c I've only bought what I've found recommended at several different forums and review sites (and thus far I'm not duplicating what I already have on redbook, so no true A/B comparisons are being done).
