I basically already have that. I have about 10 MD's I've labeled Evening Jazz, plenty of standards. I have nearly as many MD's of Brazilian jazz too. I've made 7 discs recently of Girly Rock and I have another under construction. If I get on a theme, I'll run off multiple discs. I have 60's, 70's, and 80's themed rock disc sets. I even have an 8-disc series called Eddy's Rock, name after a favourite tune by Roy Wood of neo 50's music. Then there is my on-going vinyl to MD project. Nona Hendrix is up next....

How much will you pay for admittance? ):

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

The Louvre charges 8.50 euros for admission, which seems purdy fair.. but the airfair would kill.

In comparison, I expect a day pass to El Casa Rachello Melodico to fetch a fifty stack of the finest Georges (including a t-shirt and snow globe) .

Is there a discount for students ?

Philboy, there's one free complimentary game of Jr. Pacman with every paid admission at Rancho Rachella's Mundo del Musica! Yes, there is a student discount. Just one thing, I'm not hip about, what is a snow globe?

So if I shove an ipod in one ear, glue a cell phone to the other, and get a tatoo over my derriere, I can get the student discount ?

The pacman lure is a sure hook for tourists. Petting zoos are so last year...

Snow globe; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowglobe ya gotta love 'em. I think a figurine of you up on the waterskis might not work with this medium though. ... then again.......

Maybe it would? We have a polar bear water ski event here every January. 2 years ago, I showed up in a grass skirt, my Save America's Carp T-shirt, my bathing cap with antennas, and my skiing sunglasses. So, natually, I got on the local TV news. Winter skiing isn't so bad when you get to go in the hot tub promptly afterwards.

How 'bout I give you a title for an MD... and leave it to your imaginationeone for the content ? Your resources are far beyond my exposure.

"Under The Covers" covers... without the riding crop stuff.

So, we want romantic classics, eh? Does anybody do a cover of the Dead Kennedy's Too Drunk To F__k...? After that I'd get out the Isley Brothers. They even have an album called Between The Sheets. I'm not sure if it has any covers though. I'd mix in Rod Stewart, Boz Scaggs, Carly Simon, Patricia Barber, and such. I'd find some romatic sheet-shakin' covers with such artists. I'd throw in Black Hole Sun by Steve & Edie for good measure. BTW, my lounge album is, correcly, Lounge-a-pooloza.

That's a good title you made up. Why didn't I think of it after like 50 times..... ):

Rachael,
Always good to see The Hawk honored. This particular cut is literally a recorded party.

I don't know if Jerry Lee did multiple versions but I used the one from The London Sessions. That's a hot album full of rock stars. A great tune from a great album, IMO....

Re: Rachael's recipe for covered music dishes

Now that I've dug into the archives, I see that I was confused anyway. Jerry did record "Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" some 15 years earlier at 706 Union in Memphis....but I was thinking of the session from the winter of 56-57 (you know, half a century ago) that produced "The Crawdad Song".
Sam Phillips usually ran a tight ship, the main excepton was Howlin' Wolf, Chester got to drink when he wanted.
Anyway, Jerry and the boys were drinking and roarin' pretty good when they laid down Crawdad Song. You can hear it on the record.
