No label deal (at the moment) and little news coming out of them... has anyone heard what is going on with them?

I think they're all pretty much on vacation right now. After finishing the Riot Act tour last year, Jeff went to Africa and isn't back yet and Ed's in Australia.

Their 'Lost Dogs' rarities disc came out in November and a new 'Live at the Garden' DVD was released. Apart from that I haven't heard too much other then what you've heard, Mike saying that as soon as they get back together they're starting the new album.
