As the subject suggests, there is a 25% off sale at Tower for Sony Classical, including SACD's. I am a pretty avid SACD and DVD-A fan, but I have yet to pick up any classical SACD's, most of mine being in Jazz or Rock (Dylan, Krauss, Davis, Holiday, etc.) So, from the titles listed here:

Sony Classical SACD Collection

What would you suggest? I am a minor fan of classical music(Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky), but I would like to get into it more. Any suggestions would do. Thanks

Most of the Sony Sack-Dee titles are older recordings from the late 1950's and early 1960's. As such they may be recorded very well but will all suffer from some degree of dynamic compression due to the analog masters. I've got some of them and the timbre is better than the equivalent redbook CD but don't expect a direct to DSD exprience.

Also please note that most of these are not hybrids.

Having said this, some of these are really classic performances. Try this list of a half-dozen:

Tchaikovski/Mendelssohn violin concertos, Issac Stern
Gershwin rhapsody in blue, Bernstein conducting
Bach italian concerto, Glen Gould*
Bartok concerto for orchestra, Pierre Boulez conducting
Brahms symphony #4, Bruno Walter conducting
Brahms violin concerto, Hillary Hahn (new recording)

* Please note that Gould hums along with his playing on many recordings. Although a brilliant performer, he had "a few" personality quirks like this.

I went to a tower 25% a while ago and was disappointed. It's off the full retail price and not much off compares to their regular prices.

Agreed. I was most impressed with the Brahms:
