It doesn't say whether it's stereo or multi-channel. Anybody know?

Answered my own question - it's got a 5.1 layer:

I just ordered it from Amazon.UK as well. The total price with Airmail shipping to the US was only $22. Not bad.

That looks like the cheapest place to get it. I wonder why it's so inexpensive there, even a few pounds cheaper than most of their single disc SACDs...

Got it today. First thing I noticed was the sucky packaging. They've got the discs stacked on top of each other. I popped in disc 1 to play one of my fave tracks, Sacred (Track 4). Sounds pretty good in 5.1 until about a minute or so in when it suddenly stopped playing and the player's counter went nuts flashing track number's 4-8 continually. I took the disc out and looked at it and it's mint. My player is the Sony 685 and was just cleaned. I almost never have any problems with any kind of disc on it and the few times I have it cleared right up with a cleaning. Not so in this case. A second attempt yielded the same results. I just played Blasphemous Rumours (Track 6) and it played perfectly. I'll report back after I've listened to more songs, including disc 2. I hope this isn't a manufacturing defect like it appears to be.

Same problem here. At the 1:21 mark of track 4, it skips ahead to about the minute mark of track 5. No scratches or anything. Also, track 5 doesn't play except beginning at about the same minute mark. I'm using a Pioneer 563.

CD layer works fine in all the sources I've tried.

Mine arrived yesterday and I've listened to the stereo SACD layer twice and the Redbook layer once with no problems whatsoever.

BUT, I just played track 4 in multichannel on my Denon 5900 and experienced the skipping issue. It jumped forward to 4 seconds into track 6 though, not track 5. If I attempt to go directly to track 5 the player freaks out and jumps forward to track 9. Close inspection of the disc revealed no scratches or marks of any kind. It appears this title definitely has a manufacturing or authoring defect on the multichannel SACD layer. Great.

As for the packaging, it doesn't bother me. Allison Krauss + Union Station Live uses the same case and it works just fine.

I don't understand why we are seeing this release on SACD, isn't Rhino who release the DVD Video version?

North American rights have nothing to do with the UK release of this disc. Rights are different in different regions.

As for the defect, mute uk has set up this site for this problem. My copy skips as well
