Eric Clapton/Derek & The Dominos coming to SACD

New on Universal's upcoming release list....Clapton's "Slowhand" and "461 Ocean Blvd". Also, Derek & The Dominos' "Layla". All multi-channel hybrids.

This is very good news. I was looking for some earlier Clapton in Hi-res to hit the markets.

If I am not mistaken, both of these discs were originally done as DTS CDs awhile back. This means we will probably get recycled PCM sourced (24/48) surround tracks transcoded to DSD. Not optimal, but there is room for improvement when compared to the lossy DTS versions, as well as the opportunity for new stereo analog to DSD transfers.

Jesper,

461 Ocean Blvd was on DTS-CD, and some of the Universal titles released on DVD-Audio came from the same masters used for DTS-CD release.

It is possible, but Universal Music hasn't said anything... yet.

Outstanding!

Super Audio is really getting to have a nice rock collection...
