For some reason that is not clear to me (video rights?) compilations of music videos have never come close to compilations of music, as far as quality and variety go.
I occasionally pick up compilation videos (as opposed to concert videos) and usually find them disappointing. Especially if the one video on it that I decided to take a chance might be representative of the disk, turns out to be a one-shot success.
Whereas with cd's - just name the era, style, theme, etc, -and there are hundreds of compilations available that interest me.
