Hey Tool fans...

Tool News

Quote:
Carey said he hopes the new Tool record will be ready for release by the end of the year, but he added that it may not be issued until early 2005 in order to avoid being lost in the Christmas shuffle.

In addition to rehearsing new songs from noon to 4 p.m. every day, Tool-minus-Maynard have also been putting together a DVD of footage from the Lateralus tour, which they plan to release this summer.

"It's going to be something really cool," Carey said. "It won't be just another band-playing-live video."

Carey described the material as heavier and more intense than the group's last disc, 2001's Lateralus.

Kick ass!

I hear that. They never do anything straight-up. Can't wait!

I realled liked Lateralus more than their previous albums so if they continue in that direction then I think it will indeed kick ass.

I hope the sound quality remains the same as Lateralus. Excellent for a rock band.

But, according to the link, they're not. They're going in an opposite direction.

I personally don't care. Once a band has earned my respect and what I call "artistic trust" I just like to sit back and let them work their magic, having confidence that they'll step up.

I've read on some Tool sites that some have heard the jams sounding of a Undertow/Lateralus kinda vibe. I have no doubt they will turn out another masterpiece. So a live DVD & a new album most likely within the next year. Great time to be a Tool fan!!

Lateralus and Anema are two of my favorite albums of all time. I look forward to the new stuff!

This reminds me I need to replace Undertow and Opiate (stolen) and pick up the new PC.

Lateralus isn't heavy and intense?

Lateralus has a lot of lighter moments where they toy with atmosphere, long intros and such, less riff-based.
