Oh yeah, we are swarming the forum. DT praises pop out every other day around here.

As well as it should.

I'm seeing them next Thursday.

Mike--
I saw the DT/Ryche show last night. It was outstanding. You're in for a major treat. I don't want to spoil anything, but just in case you haven't heard, don't leave early.

David--

I believe they have at least one, maybe two Canadian dates on the current tour.

Another DT fan here.

Any info on new stuff? All I know is they planned on being done with their takes by the tour they just started so they could master it later this year and it's supposed to have a metal slant.

Isn't the lead singer from Canada? He should at least stop by!

Rob, I'm glad the show was good. I'm taking a friend of mine. All she has heard of any of the bands is Scenes From a Memory, which she liked, but is wary about the other bands. Frankly, I myself am wary of Queensryche (although I'm a huge fan) because I don't know if DeGarmo is touring with them, my friend's brother said he was "not impressed" when he saw them recently, and their last two albums, while not bad, don't have the same punch as their earlier material.

Hmm... don't leave early, eh? I'm going to guess that maybe members from the different bands will jam together or something.

Actually, I'm even more excited to see Fates Warning, since I've seen the other two before and I love FW.

Isn't that all their albums?

New DT will be great, I'm sure. They haven't recorded anything less than brilliant yet.

Last night I listened to Images & Words for, like, the bazillionth time. Still doesn't get old.

Mike--

Your insight serves you well...

I, too, was excited to see Fates, and was not disappointed. They're only playing for 1/2 and hour, so it's pretty stripped down with no keyboards. But they sounded great, and the set list was good.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Queensryche. They used to be one of my favorite bands, but the post-1994 material has been weak, to say the least. They only played one song off the new album, and the rest of the set was Empire and back. They definitely know what the crowd wants to hear. Overall, I enjoyed their set much more than I was expecting. They do use some backing tracks and try to pass them off as live background vocals, which annoys the hell out of me.

It's interesting how different the performances are. With DT, there's so much going on, it's hard to decide who to watch. With the 'Ryche, Tate is in definite command of the stage.
