.....but my point is that Super Audio is the preferred format across many hifi events and industry journals

I don't know who said this (my "ignore" feature is activated) but here's my counterpoint to this statement:
"Preferred format"?? I'm very sure it is:
1) Because sacd titles overwhelmingly consist of classical and jazz music. But in journals that cover pop/rock recording, sacd is hardly ever mentioned.
2) Since--
to me--sacd has a rather dullish high end (resembling an LP that was played too much), most golden ears are attracted to it. Most golden ears seem to loooove anything exhibiting "smoothness" (i.e. dullness to me) and everytime I go and listen to what they consider smooth I find that it lacks detail, presence and sparkle--the audio equivalent of that filter moviemakers used to place over the camera lens to give female stars that blurry/soft look. Pretty......but not realistic IMO.
For ME dvd-audio's PCM format (in its 96kHz and 192kHz forms) lacks harshness but still has detail and sparkle. And even poor old 44.1kHz shares most of these qualities, so I can listen to CDs for hours with no problem.
