Doug R, great observations! I'll have to look for those the second time around

You've got to be kidding. Spider-Man's CGI was not that good. The CGI in AOTC is far better, aside from one scene. Maybe you just didn't like the amount of CGI used.

I was just comparing AOTC to a recent CG-heavy movie, i.e. Spider-Man. The CG in Spider-Man was good in parts but terrible in many others. That's why I said that compared to Spider-Man, the CG in AOTC was the best ever If you had bothered to read the next sentence in my post you would see that I said, "Standing on its own merits, it is excellent with one or two iffy spots," which echos your sentiments. For the most part it was great, but some parts needed work.

As far as

Then why are you here?
This IS a discussion thread after all. What is there to discuss if you only care about what YOU thought?

Spider-Man to me anyway, had a sense of joy and excitement that was sadly lacking here. Aside from
Spoiler:
Yoda's ass-kicking
at the end, there were no moments that got me like that.

Thought this was enough of an important question not to bury it in the One and Only Thread. Edit: I guess not since it was moved here

I read in another forum that Rick Macallum stated on a previous date that the digital print of star wars: Episode II will contain an extra scene not in the film print of the movie. Is this true?

All I care about is what I thought.

Terrell,
Then why are you dogging out Ebert because he didn't like AOTC. Regarding this film, nobody needs validation of their opinion, but you've question others for having a contrary view of this film.

Anyone notice the rigth fourth of the picture was out of focus. I even saw what would look like convergence problems on a RPTV(red outlines to the right of high contrast areas..)

Or are they getting it ready for DVD by putting the EE in now so that they can't say they added it in for the DVD.

75% of the image was finely focused but the right was just a bit off. Maybe it was my print.

And seeing the whole picture makes a difference. As does the digital sound!!

There was a question on page 6 about the mechanical arm.

Well it wasn't Ep. 4 that Luke got his new hand, it was ESB. And ESB is several years after ANH, right? And ANH has to be about 18-20 years after AOTC, right?

So yes, I think we could expect hand technology to improve so much. I thought that was Lucas' exact point. After all the obvious paralleling to ESB shouldn't be lost on us. It was so clearly intentional that I thought Anakin would be in a big water chamber thing.

Therefore I think Lucas was trying to show the fact that this is clearly EARLIER in the narrative history.

I wonder if clones get corrupted after time? Because they sure did have better aim in AOTC than they had in the original trilogy hence the saying "You have aim worse than stormtroopers." That saying must now be amended to "You have aim worse than stormtroopers in the original trilogy."

I will. I'm not sure why Lucas even bothers hiring Williams to write new music, half of the music in this movie was tracked in from one of the earlier movies.

Something MAJOR, MAJOR! happened in this flick that I haven't seen commented on yet.

Spoiler:
Jar Jar voted for Palpatine to be granted "Emergency Powers" which made his authority supreme. Our favorite Gungan basically got the ball rolling on the Empire. He is evil! Jar Jar destroyed the Republic!

We knew it all along.
