Lethal Weapon DVDs...*shakes head in amazement*

Well, after much neglect I finally completed my collection of Lethal Weapon films on DVD. I still can't get over how awesome and hilarious these films are. Every sequel is as good as the first one; some are even better (more humor). I especially love the Cell Phone scene between Chris Rock and Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 4. Plus, the DVDs themselves are fantastic. Hard to believe they're from Warner Brothers.

They just don't make action films like these anymore.

Brian,
Since, most of your post is actually talking about the quality of the film itself and not the dvd presentation then it's my thought that this thread belongs in the Movies section.

Brian, just out of curiosity, did you make sure and get the new 'Directors cut' editions in the silver foil snappers? And not the older theatrical versions?

I absolutly LOVE this trilogy! What impresses me most, and bothers a friend of mine, is the transformation that Mel's charactor has underwent since the original.

Riggs went from a slightly mad and suicidal loner, to a happy and content family man, all because of his relationship with Roger. Thism is how things happen in life. This bothers my freind beause he feels that he ALWAYS wants Riggs to be crazy and out of control, but I told him "that wouldn't be realistic." If he never changes through the entire series than what's the point?

A far as the dvd's go, I have mixed feeling's. The transfers are o.k. except for 'Lethal 3' witch I thought looked a little washed out in terms of color. But other wise these are the best versions of these movies, and the sound DTS OR DD is great. And 'Lethal 4' doesn't even need a DTS track, it rocks just the way it is!

Warner Bros. is officially dead to me.

Oh great. Now you're making me regret selling these.

(Long story, but basically shelf space shortage coupled with the feeling that I knew these by heart...)

I love these...I have Lethal Weapon and Lethal Weapon 3 director's cuts and Lethal Weapon 4. One of these days I'll get around to picking up Lethal 2. Odd, since the second one is my favorite.

John- You mean there's a silver snapper edition?!?! Argh!!! I got the original theatrical cut!! (kidding!)

I picked up the Director's Cut Silver Snapper editions of 1-3. From what I know, there isn't a Director's Cut Silver Snapper edition of Lethal Weapon 4.

I figured I'd just resurrect this thread rather than start a new one.

I just have a question about Lethal Weapon 3. I was watching it the other night and Lorna Cole (Rene Russo) says "Close is a lingerie shop without a front window." What does this mean? Everyone I've asked at work has no idea.

I know that this line is in reference to a scene that got cut from the film. I'm not sure if it's addressed at all in any of the special features. I haven't seen the director's cut so maybe the scene has even been restored. My memory is cloudy, but I think the Russo character was originally introduced during a chase scene in a lingerie shop. Maybe someone else knows exactly how the cut scene played out.

The "sniper scene" in the first director's cut is great. It really adds to the 'Riggs has a death wish' angle of the movie.

And you believe, at heart, everyone's a killer...
