Indiana Jones 5
Harrison Ford says that George Lucas is cooking up an idea for a fifth film and says he's game for another round. Question is.. would Steven Spielberg come back to direct? Or is he completely finished with the series judging by interviews.
Quote:
Harrison Ford said Friday that momentum is building for a fifth movie in the "Indiana Jones" franchise and that George Lucas is already cooking up a suitable plot for a heroic senior citizen with a penchant for whips and fedoras.
"It's crazy but great," the 66-year-old Ford said. "George is in think mode right now."
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" grossed $318 million in the U.S. alone and $770 million worldwide and is expected to be powerhouse seller on DVD and Blu-Ray when it arrives in stores Oct. 14. It was a film that many people in Hollywood assumed would never be made considering the difficulty in finding the right time and the right script to reunite Ford, Lucas and franchise director Steven Spielberg after the 1989 hit "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
Now, though, the latest success and the fact that the franchise's old machinery was revived has Ford thinking a fifth movie is not only a viable idea, but an attractive one.
"It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again," Ford said.

Re: Indiana Jones 5
As long as Spielberg doesn't get sucked into it, I'm fine with whatever LFL does.

Re: Indiana Jones 5
I don't see Spielberg coming back. Honestly I really don't think he liked the last script, but Lucas wouldn't accept Darabont's script so that was that.

I look forward to skipping this one. Wish I never saw Part 4.

I hope they make this so people have a new movie to complain about.

Look at the bright side ... if people complain about a new movie like this, it gives others their usual chance to police opinions and complain that others are complaining!

Re: Indiana Jones 5
I hope it gets made for the fans I just don't want Spielberg to do it. He has a long "to do" list, and I'd rather he spent time on those films. That was my only point

Re: Indiana Jones 5
I wouldn't mind if they did a hybrid story with Ford as Indy and a younger actor as Young Indy, and give themselves the opportunity to grow the series away from Ford. I know it's considered sacrilegious by many, but I think the series could exist beyond Harrison Ford. The character is strong like Bond.
"If you write a story about a soldier going AWOL and kidnapping a pregnant woman and finally shooting her in the head, it's called searingly realistic, even though it's never happened in the history of mankind. Whereas if you write about two people falling in love, which happens about a million times a day all over the world, for some reason or another, you're accused of writing something unrealistic and sentimental."
-Richard Curtis, Screenwriter and Director

Re: Indiana Jones 5
The bad news about this, is that there will probably not be a BD release of the first three films until they abandon the idea or a fifth film is actually made. Either way, it's a long way off.

Re: Indiana Jones 5
I'd be up for it. The fourth film is a solid, if insubstantial, ride. I can't say it's any worse than the other two sequels though. The screenplay makes a difference. If whoever would write it at least ASPIRES to Raiders of the Lost Ark, we could probably get the best sequel yet. Harrison's still got it. Karen Allen still had the qualities that made her charismatic. Even Shia was not problematic.
