Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
The film doesn't look like what I was expecting. Not that that is a bad thing, I guess I still had the tone of "I Am Legend" in my mind so I thought itwas going to be a very dark look at a superhero after reading the premise for it.

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
Huh, I didn't even realize Tonight, He Comes... had gotten as far as filming. Not sure whether I like the new name better.
And, hey, it's scheduled for a "Big Willie Wednesday" release. Been a while since he had one of those.

Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
The script for "Hancock" is said to be very good (as well as hilarious) and the rumored "twist" on the Charlize Theron character should be fun to see unfold (if true).
This one could go either way though. It could be a great romp and end up being a big summer hit or it could end up being another "My Super Ex-Girlfriend". The teaser spot did have some funny moments though.

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
I laughed my ass off at the whale part. This should be a fun role for Will Smith. And Jason Bateman
Who is directing this?

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
This looks pretty good and quite a few steps up from My Super Ex-girlfriend which did have its moments.
Being 6 months out, the sfx already are looking great as well. Will be nice to have another Smith 4th of July.

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
It's good to hear that it's Berg directing. He's an above average director, and should have the right touch to get the tone of this film right.
I'm warming the idea of an unlikeable dickhead Will Smith as superhero

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
I just saw the trailer for this movie on Apple trailers and I have to say, wow, I really like it! It looks fun and the effects are spot on. He's a very "different" type of Superhero. Can't wait to see what they have in store for Charlize Theron.
Again, yup, the whale part. LOL!
\"A human being is part of the whole called by us the Universe. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest --a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, and the whole of nature in its beauty.\" - Albert Einstein

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
From the premise, I really expected something different. Something more dramatic about a guy who used to be great in his heyday and has one more chance to prove himself - kinda like a Rocky Balboa with a superhero. So looks like I'll need to readjust my expectations.

Re: Hancock (Will Smith as a Superhero!)
I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this thread. That was great! I've gotta see it.
I'll be all around in the dark, I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look, wherever there's a fight, so hungry people can eat, I'll be there. Wherever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry and they know supper's ready, and when the people are eatin' the stuff they raise and livin' in the houses they build, I'll be there, too.
