*** Official ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS Review Thread

I had a good time with this movie, it gets a lot of things right, especially the CGI work on the 3 chipmunks is spot-on, they were so adorable, cute and funny, it wasn't hard to laugh with them, and empathize with them. Jason Lee does a good job as Dave Seville, though his character is written to keep things accessible for the kids, while David Cross as Ian Hawke seemed to be a mis-cast for me, just wasn't as edgy or diabolical as he should have been. I laughed so hard at a few scenes, I had to wipe the tears from my eyes, just silly, infectious youthful spirit from the perspective of chipmunks (who can talk and sing).

It's a great little family film that won't disappoint children or their parents.

I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

Enjoyed the movie, the kids absolutely loved it. The CGI is really spot on as previously mentioned and well done. You kind of have to take your self back to the original concept then appreciate the movie. Classic bad guy etc. Great family movie, B+
