1. The Poseidon Adventure (1972) (4/5)

This is the first time I’ve watched this movie on New Year’s Eve/Day and also the first time not on TV but on dvd, so I noticed the film has a quicker pace with the lack of commercials which surprised me that the film was shorter than two hours considering how big the scope of the film is. The characters start off as simple & two dimensional but then in true Irwin Allen fashion are tossed upside-down (literally) and have to deal and survive their ordeal. It’s one of those movies that for me could have been a watch once and then forgotten but there’s something in it (Shelly Winters!) that makes me want to watch the film again next year.
