Well, reviews are coming in and it seems like this movie is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, or at least that's the impression I get from all that I've been reading.

I now have another reason to see this...Besides my nervousness, now I need to see if it's as good as everyone says it is, or whether it's more hyped up than a serial killer with a coffee IV.

Either way, I feel that you should respect yourself and not make jokes about yourself. You are very important, no matter who you are, and to make jokes about your actions or your words shows disrespect towards yourself. Every thing you do and say makes you who you are.

I will never say a cross word about anything I enjoy or anybody I support or like. I wouldn't make fun of anybody on here since I respect all of you, and if I've said anything cross in the past, I steadfastly apologize. You're all great people. None of you have wronged me...You've all respected me.

If you hadn't, I would've been shooting out vitriolic comments a long time ago.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

I'm just worried about how I'll react.

This is going to be a HUGE hit.

Amy Adams is going to become a movie star with this movie.

Amy Adams is going to be nominated for an Academy Award with this movie (you laugh, but just you wait and see).

Amy Adams might just walk away with the Oscar with this movie (you laugh, but it could happen).

Comedy is hard, and not as respected as it should be. Musicals double. This is going to be a huge hit because it will appeal to all ages, and people will be looking for something to counterbalance the heavy/sad/violent/epic/Oscar bait movies that are out now and coming out in the next few weeks.

People are going to fall head over heels in love with Amy Adams. There have been comparisons to Julie Andrews/Mary Poppins, and that could extend beyond just making Amy a star and the movie doing well. She could get an Oscar nomination to counterbalance the hard-hitting performances of people like Marion Cotillard and Julie Christie. Maybe she won't win, but Andrews did! Yes, that was a long time ago, but she did win.

Amy already has an Oscar nom

I agree this film is going to do for her what Legally Blonde did for Reese Witherspoon (and then some, because of the younger audience this will get). I also agree this will be a big hit (and I can say that without even seeing it yet).

It helps that all of those "heavy" movies are generating ZERO audience interest. Amy Adams was the one reason I didn't write this trailer off the first time I saw it, so I won't be surprised to see her on the A-list on Monday. And it couldn't happen to a better actress.

If the movie had just a tad better ending it would not only get Oscar nominations for Best Actress (Amy Adams) and Best Original Song ("That's How You Know" was flat-out superb inside this movie), but even possibly a Best Picture nomination. It's the best Disney family movie I've seen since the animated feature Lilo & Stitch.

I know that. I saw Junebug in the theaters, months before the nominations and I said "that girl is going to get an Oscar nomination."

I said "Amy Adams is going to be nominated for an Academy Award with THIS movie" and didn't mean it would be her ONLY nomination.

Yup!

And if she is nominated, and if the movie were nominated for BP, Ray and I will look like prognosticating geniuses!

Re: *** Official ENCHANTED Discussion Thread

As collaborative as film is, this film rests entirely on the performance of Amy Adams. She was indispensible to its success. With a performance that is too knowing, too clever, too silly or too ironic the whole house of cards falls. But I saw Amy Adams in Junebug and knew this would be a success. Her performance makes Guiselle both comically naive and utterly endearing. Her supporting cast was fine (special kudo's to 'McDreamy', as my wife calls him, for the thankless but essential role as straight man) but this film belongs to Amy Adams.

Re: *** Official ENCHANTED Discussion Thread

Did anyone notice who the actress was in the soap opera the prince and the other guy were watching in the motel room??..It was the actress who did the voice of Belle in Beauty & The Beast.

My daughter really liked it. I am surprised they didn't have any cameos from Disney's other princesses.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.
