AWN reports on an upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks movie:

The old man must be rolling in his grave right about now. I know they want to update the characters for a new generation, but turning them into ugly travesties isn't the way to do it. I can just picture them gangsta rapping in their 78 RPM voices. Brutal.

I'm sorry, but the old man needs to come back and slap some taste into Jr.

I really don't understand all of the negative responses and comments like this. It's clearly going to be a fun, family movie for the holidays. Maybe you have to have kids, which I'm pretty sure Jason does, in order to "get" that these types of movies are harmless.

I'm sure my 7 year old will get a kick out of it.

I thought the poster looked kind of cute. It's amazing to see the cgi versions of those chipmunks. Kids will like this. Hopefully it won't be too painful for parents/guardians buying the tickets.

Anyway else love seeing a kids movie with a full house of mainly kids and their parents? I really need to rent some children of my own I think.
