A remake of FOOTLOOSE?

Ok.....trying to keep calm.....

Indy 4? I can live with that.
Die Hard 4? I can live with that.
A remake of Escape From New York? I can live with that if done right.

But FOOTLOOSE? Is Hollywood officially out of ideas?

Re: A remake of FOOTLOOSE?

Heard it on the radio this morning. Apparently they're using a guy from High School Musical for the roll. It's suppose to be a movie/musical. Oh and yes, Hollywood is running out of ideas. Please note Ortega who's working on this is lining up a third installment of High School Musical

Re: A remake of FOOTLOOSE?

High School Musical is like Crack for kids though, it's one of Disney's more valuable properties. Advance "listens" to the "High School Musical 2" soundtrack have drawn big crowds nationwide. Outside of being the top selling album of 2006, the thing seems to just suck in little kids.

So, yeah, remaking footloose seems silly, but if they are trying to do it and aim at the pre-teen/early teen crowd (8-15) this movie could be a hit.

The studio is thinking: it doesn't even have to be very good to bring in a crowd of the right audience.
