E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial 25th Anniversary

Didn't see a thread opened up for this, but today (June 11th) is the 25th anniversary of the premiere of everyone's favorite Reeses Pieces eating extra-terrestrial.

Yet another in the chain of 1982 released "silver anniversaries" to make us all feel reeeeeeally old. :-)

Will likely go home and pop in the DVD (1982 cut of course) to celebrate!

Time sure flies. Five years ago people were speculating on how much the re-release would make at the BO in the following thread. Most of us overestimated its drawing power.

I went to see the rerelease at the Cinerama Dome during a weekday in '02. It was fairly empty, but I still had a great experience. There's nothing quite like the last 15 minutes when Spielberg blasts away with Williams' uninterrupted music.
