American Gangster (Scott, Crowe, Washington)

In the last few years, I've found myself more of a "fall" guy. The summer films have gotten much better than they were in the 90's, but they are still summer films. Most of the directors with interesting stuff are getting their films released outside of the blockbuster season. It's not the spoon that bends...it is myself

So I look forward to the fall more than the summer. I'm less likely to be swindled out of my money.

Here is a BIGGIE this fall. Three BIG names. The trailer just offers texture (and some fun period looks), but this release should be well worth a few of the gaggers this summer is churning out.

Like last year's "The Departed", I really do hope that "American Gangster" finally brings Ridley Scott a Best Director Oscar. Judging from the trailer, he looks to have given himself a good chance. The movie looks amazing.

I'm looking forward to this, too. Scott is pretty much gold, and the cast looks to be fantastic.

And Chuck, I'm slowly starting to enjoy the fall season more and more. Last year was an absolutely awesome fall, and I actually enjoyed it more than the summer by a long shot. The month of October alone was unbelievable with The Prestige, The Departed, Babel, Flags of our Fathers, and Marie Antionette.
