"Revolutionary Road"
A young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children. Based on a novel by Richard Yates.
I am very much looking forward to this movie - Leo DiCaprio is proving to be one of the BEST ACTORS Hollywood has ever had! His track record is practically seamless with solid performances and well-received movies, and he's only getting better in his "old age." He hasn't taken that action-hero U-turn like Nic Cage and Tom Cruise, DiCaprio is still doing "human drama," and that's my favorite type of cinema.
Kate Winslet is also a darling of the modern cinema! I can watch her in anything, even that disappointing movie called Quills. Not only is she beautiful, but she can really act. I even like her better than Cate Blanchett, and I like Cate a lot, too.

Yeah, both are competent actors. I didn't think they had the best chemistry in Titanic but they pulled it off anyway. I hope this flick is good.
I can offer some Leo love (in a all around straight way) myself. He was terrific and believable as Howard Hughes and fantastic as that guy who possed as an imposter whenever he needed money. Really good actor. I highly recommend some of his early works like This Boy's Life and Gilbert Grape.

Yep, they are filming parts of this in my old 'hood on the UWS of manhattan.
(and we're stuck in berkeley...)
Both fine actors.
I actually thought they had great chemistry in Titanic and they reportedly got along very well....

Yeah, in my Parent's Neighborhood in SW Connecticut, Dreamworks sent out flyers saying that they were looking for a suitable house in the area for filming

Revolutionary Road is one of my favorite novels ever, so I'm very much looking forward to this. I think Mendes is well suited for the film, too, so that makes me even more excited.

Chemistry transcends "corny dialogue". Especially in a visual medium like cinema.
They had a very soulful rapport. They didn't have to say one thing and you totally believed they were hot for each other. It's the way they looked at one another - the "sparks" whenever they were photographed in the same shot. And dialogue worked IMHO because it created an interesting frission between them. Jack talked like a guy from the late 20th century, while Rose came off as a woman trapped in the gilded age. It was a symbolic maneuver for story purposes, but also beneficial to bringing mainstream audiences "in" to a world they might have been put off due to the barriers/hang-ups of a 'period picture'.

Interesting that ten years ago, both were up and comers.
Now they have, what, SEVEN or EIGHT Oscar noms between them (they had TWO combined back then).
I'm excited for this because of the horsepower. Arguably, the best actor and actress of their generation, directed by a pretty good director. Good news, good news. It's a testament to their careers that the monolithic (and brilliant ) Titanic did not define them.

Exactly.
Just look at their early work. Winslet already quite the pro in "Heavenly creatures".
DiCaprio making a good impression in "This Boys life" and being absolutely phenomenal in "What's eating GG"
