This week Ken McAlinden reviews Albert Lewin's MGM adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, a highly awaited release that gets notable recommendation. Todd Erwin gives us two reviews of the recent "Indie" releases, Harold, starring Spencer Breslin -and- Dororo, a live-action comic book adaptation directed by Akihko Shiota. Steve Alten's Meg

Hi,
Does anyone know if Steve Alten's book "Meg" (about a Megalodon shark) will ever be made? I know this has supposedly been in development for ages.

Last I'd heard, it was delayed by New Line so they could go full speed ahead on getting out "Rush Hour 3", as well as resolve budget issues with MEG. So that would likely push it back to summer 2009.

Based on his website, I think even Steve Alten is getting somewhat frustrated with the delays.

New Line Cinema has hired an excellent Line Producer, whose movies include POSEIDON, DEEP BLUE SEA, MASTER & COMMANDER, & HARRY POTTER. With a pending actors strike next year, a decision may be rendered soon.
