The stars who make big paychecks won't benefit in the slightest if there's a SAG strike. They will in fact lose money from the time spent out of work. They'll support the strike out of solidarity, but it's most definitely not good business for them. Strikes are about MINIMUMS. Showrunners with special deals have always made more than the terms negotiated for WGA contracts, too.

Sad news about Alexander Courage's passing. In reading his entry at IMDB, it was interesting to see he's credited for Star Trek 2009. His famous fanfare will be part of the film, of course. Glad to see his legacy carries on into the next Trek.

Further sadness, director Joe Pevney has passed away as well. Along with City on the Edge of Forever, Pevney directed the following episodes:
