Re: Star Trek XI- Official now- 12.25.2008 (merged)
Hi Lou!
You read my post at trekmovie! I often feel a post gets lost in all the noise there with all the spamming going on there!
I totally agree it was extremely cool that the cast and crew took time out of a busy afternoon of filming between takes to interact with the fans! I'm glad they'll willing to do it again soon. So if you didn't get a question in, they'll be another chance.
And I saw that Roberto Orci got home from the studio at about 2:30am. He said he'd go over all the questions asked and get the crew to answer during downtime on the set.
This is pretty cool they are reaching out to the fan base and really care what we think and taking the time to respond.
I made the comment that it could be cool if we were kept in the dark as long as possible in reference to images of the new Enterprise and costumes and props only because I thought it might make it a more fun experience in the cinema. But I would guess it's not likely, they need to market the film and show something. But given how JJ has been secretive with his projects, it's possible this will happen anyway.

I will keep the faith with this. If its not a good Trek, please at least let it be a good movie. Of course i loved the JJ Abrams years of Alias, so i hope for the best.
Oh, and i always enjoy your posts Nelson, and Lou. You always bring some interesting thoughts to the Trek posts. Thanks!

Someone over at ScreenRant photostopped all the images of the Enterprise together from the teaser.
You can go here to see it. It really does show the scale of the new Enterprise quite well.
Yeah Nelson, I read all the posts.
Thanks Rick. Just trying to share the excitement!

Indeed, and I predict as the release date draws closer more people will start visiting this thread once they realize the scale of what JJ is trying to accomplish.

Just wanted to mention that the fact that Michael Giacchino is composing the music for the movie. Most awesome. Loved his work on The Incredibles and Lost to name a few.

This is wonderful news to me. I've been following Giacchino's work on Lost for three years. He's very, very good IMO. The special features for Season One go into some of the techniques he uses, and those features are quite interesting.
This eleventh Trek film looks to be coming together nicely. I really do hope continuity isn't ignored too much.
