According to IGN's FilmForce, popular '80's cartoon series Voltron: Defender Of The Universe is in the early stages of a big screen, live action adaptation.

As much as the idea intrigues me, I can't help but feel like it's just a way to sell toys.

I definitely like to see it if it's done right.

DavidPla - I read the Voltron "script review" at Latino Review a month or two ago and, if real, it sounds like it will be as huge of a film as Transformers. I can't wait.

I think it's already being worked on with a 2010 or 2011 release.

If done right this has all sorts of avenues of possibilities that can be explored, I can even envision a possible trilogy.
