Bruno Kirby Passes

Just got a shock to read that actor Bruno Kirby has passed away at the relatively young age of 57. Apparently he had been recently diagnosed with leukemia.

His best known role was probably as Billy Crystal's best friend in When Harry Met Sally. He also did notable work in City Slickers, Good Morning Vietnam, and This Is Spinal Tap. He made an early impression playing the young Clemenza in The Godfather II. Most recently, he did a bit on HBO's "Entourage".

Entire article here:

He was an engaging character actor, and I for one always enjoyed his work. R.I.P., Mr. Kirby.

Bruno's filmography is full of excellent projects. He'll be missed.

Re: Bruno Kirby Passes

Time to dig out my copy of The Freshman for an in memoriam screening. It's one of Bruno Kirby's funniest performances.

What a terrible loss. So many great performances. The limo driver in Spinal Tap is another.

I think I will also watch WHMS, City Slickers and The Freshman in his honor.

I grew to love him as a kid in City Slickers - seeing it more than 20 times easily.

Stuart Little, Donnie Brasco, Sleepers, City Slickers, Freshman, We're No Angels, When Harry Met Sally, This is Spinal Tap! are just the majority of the films I've seen of him.

I think one of his best performances I've seen of his was in Sleepers - fantastic job.

He will be missed!
