Children of Men

Never heard of this until 15 minutes ago. But I really like the cast. I REALLY like the director. Must be a big night for trailers for me...this and The Fountain. All we need now is Pan's Labyrinth and The Departed

Trailer

I keep saying this, but what a month that's turning out to be:

Sept 29 - Alfonso Cuaron
Oct 6 - Martin Scorcese (The Departed)
Oct 13 - Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) - moved to Dec 29
Oct 13 - Darren Aronofsky - moved to Nov 22
Oct 20 - Clint Eastwood (Flags of our Fathers)
Oct 20 - Sofia Coppola
Oct 27 - Chris Nolan

Anyways, quite an interesting concept in CoM, and I hope they really push it a bit. Cuaron is a ballsy guy, though. Just wanted to share the trailer. This looks very interesting.

Full imdb list here.

Keep having to edit. At least CoM appears to be locked in

Damn, Chuck, I was gonna be the one to start this when I caught it along with the Fountains trailer earlier today, but I was rushing out there door when I posted the Fountain so I didn't have time to get to this.

Yeah, I really liked this trailer and the concept. Shaping up to look like a good fall, indeed.

This looks fantastic. One of those rare "uplifting films that are also high-quality" type movies. Even if it isn't uplifting, it still looks terrific. I can't believe this concept hasn't been explored more.

As for the month of October, don't forget about Martin Scorsese on October 6th!!

Regards,
Nathan

Re: Children of Men

I thought The Departed was in December (must be The Aviator and Gangs history). If that's October 6, then the month is even THAT much better.

That takes a big whiz all over the summer. I'll be at the theater all month!

I assume this trailer premiered with LitW. I might pay for that just to see the trailers. I can't get over that list of directors all releasing stuff in a four week period.

Looks quite interesting, not one I'll trek to the theater for but a solid rental for sure.

Just watched that trailer Chuck. Wow. Looks really good and a GREAT cast. Just noticed the actor from Serenity too. It opens the day before my birthday.

Thanks for the heads up.

Check IMDB, and it looks like besides those Chuck listed, we also get the new Iñárritu, Eastwood, Sofia Coppola, Danny Boyle, John Cameron Mitchell, Minghella and Linklater in October. Plus Almodovar in the first week of November.

This does look very good. Between this, The Prestige and The Fountain - I think I enjoyed all of the trailers before LitW more than the movie

I can't remember an October that had this much great material coming out! It makes me wonder what'
