Work related movies.

I sent a good friend of mine my old copy of Swimming with Sharks because I just bought the SE and she said that she'd never seen it, and it got us to talking about our past jobs and I was thinking about movies that use the workplace as it's theme.

Some of the obvious one's are Swimming with Sharks, Office Space and Clockwatchers, but what are some others that you could recommend?

Re: Work related movies.

Keeping things in the realm of comedy, there's Salaryman Kintaro (aka "Kintaro: The White-Collar Worker") from Takashi Miike, a thoroughly entertaining film about a Yakuza who "goes straight" by getting a job in a real estate office, but finds that his old "job" experience is applicable to the business world.

In The Company of Men which you may already be familiar with, is another that springs to mind.

Re: Work related movies.

Definitely Clerks. Its portrayal of dealing with annoying customers is spot on. Hopefully the sequel hits on this as well

Are you limiting the ‘workplace’ to white collar, office jobs?

If not then, at least a substantial minority (if not a majority) of movies fit the bill. Every cop movie, for example uses the cop’s workplace as its theme. And so on…

And let's not forget the name of Kevin Spacey's character in that one!

Almost everything by Michael Mann, in terms of characters who define themselves by their occupations.

Re: Work related movies.

"Workplace" can mean any job that is clearly defined and is somewhat at the center of a film.

I forgot about Clerks, where was my brain lol!?
