really? that's interesting, 'cos i think it's the best thing marvel has done with those characters in years...what turns you off about it?

i'm with you 100% on this - i'd love to see every superhero movie made as CGI and look like advent children...
as an aside, you should check out the nightcrawler cutscene from the same game that i posted above, as well as the loki one - i watched them both about 1000 times each: absolutely spectcular. i wish whoever was responsible for those would do feature length films of the same calibre...

To me it flushing the past history away. I get the feeling Marvel would rather remove 616 & go Ultimate only. I hated DC & their zillion of universes. I'm even pissed at Marvel because they created multiple Volumes instead of letting the issue numbers grow.

Re: Fantastic Four 2 (July 4, 2007 release)
I don't think that's the case. Ultimate has become more and more of a pocket line as time has gone on. If you mean you're pissed by the Heroes Reborn stunt that caused many of the long-running titles to have their numbers reset, I agree with that. Fortunately, at least a couple of them have been allowed to catch back up with the old numbering scheme. FF and Amazing Spider-Man, for example, are back to being numbered in the 500s now. I believe the Avengers caught back up, too, before it was canceled and replaced by the New and now the Mighty Avengers. Other than the annoyance of the numbering scheme, I think Marvel has tried to keep the old history in continuity more than DC did in the past. They tried to alter Spider-Man's origin, but that has pretty much been ignored at this point.

Yes the Heroes Reborn crap. Thats when I think in 1991 when they gave all the top artists (McFarland, Liefield, Jim Lee etc.) their own restarts with #1 issues. Which was just a money grap & caused me to quit about a year later. Didn't those guys leave anyway & form another company.

It was 1996, and it was Lee and Liefeld along with a few others. If I recall correctly, the titles were actually farmed out to wherever Liefeld and Lee were working at the time. The whole thing ending up collapsing because they couldn't keep deadlines. Incidently, the Heroes Reborn universe has been revisited lately, but (surprise, surprise) Liefeld apparently hasn't been able to meet deadlines to keep the thing coming out consistently. Three of the issues have been released, and the thing's been going on for six months now.

It was 1991 when the Jim Lee got to do X-men #1 rather than Uncanny X-men.

Looks "better" but the director is the same with a less than stellar filmography.

IIRC, that was an entirely new series while Uncanny proceeded alongside of it (like Sensational Spiderman and Amazing Spiderman).

I still haven't seen the first film. ...guess I should add this to my blockbuster queue.
