No desire to see a PG-13 Terminator movie. Especially one that is MCG'd.

While we will have to wait and see if MCG can direct a Terminator movie. I see no reason why a PG-13 version of Terminator can not be any good? Look at what they did with Die Hard: Live Free Or Die Hard and that was PG-13. I am going to take a wait and see approach to Terminator 4. IMHO it will ether suck or it will be very good.

"The Dark Knight" is PG-13!

I have no desire to see a bad Terminator movie. I don't care about its rating.

Re: Terminator 4

THE DARK KNIGHT can be PG-13 because of the material, despite reports it really does deserve an R rating. All the BATMAN films have been PG-13, so it has nothing to do with this.

LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD stunk. It was flat and boring and the action was ludicrous and without danger. Hated it.

The three TERMINATOR films could not be PG-13, It would have been impossible. Forcing the 4th film into a PG-13 automatically limits the film in numerous ways as to what it can do and show. That's just wrong.

Live Free or Die Hard would've been the same with or without an R-Rating. It's the story that matters in the end. And to be honest I think the second Terminator would've garnered a PG-13 if it were released today.

Re: Terminator 4

Yeah, in retrospect, T2 doesn't seem too graphic violent. Outside of the language in the movie, I could see it warranting a PG-13 (not sure where the MPAA stands on male backside nudity these days). Even the killing of John's foster parents was remarkably bloodless considering what happened.

No way would T2 get a PG-13. Absolutely not.

How so? Coarse language aside, compare it to most PG-13 fare today. The most is the T-1000 putting a a long knife through somebody but it's pretty bloodless.

Re: Terminator 4

You can never tell what the MPAA is thinking but the T-1000 killing John's foster father is probably violent enough (since you see a spike through his mouth and it gets pulled out) for an R and the killing of the security guard in the mental hospital with a spike through the eye is definitely R rated material but those are the only two violent acts that I think are R rated.

That being said, there's absolutely no way to determine if a movie is good based upon its rating. As long as T4 is good, I don't care if they can't say 'fuck' or 'shit' 20 times or blow someone's head off with a shotgun. I'm glad T2 is an R rated movie but if they cut out stuff for a PG-13, it would still be an awesome movie.

Re: Terminator 4

Hard to judge anything from the trailer due to the jumpy video effect. Hope these guys can pull this off.

Re: Terminator 4

The discussion at hand is precisley why i'm slowly warming up to the rating for this film, there really isn't anything too bad in the precious three so if they handle the editing well this film could blend nicely with the others content wise.

Having said that, I still hate that Live Free or Die Hard was slapped with a PG-13, a DH film needs to be 3 things loud, violent and profanity ridden lol.

But I liked LFODH okay, I just watched it on BD last weekend and it's a fairly exciting movie, especially when you crank it up!
