I was reading a web site called the-numbers.com, which compiles all sorts of numbers about movies: box office, etc. I became intrigued by the number of movies released each year, and wanted to know if this was accurate.
Could it be that only 25 or 30 films were released a year back in the '60s? And that now that number is just about 500 a year?
The site is also interesting in that it lists each movie that came out in a given year and more often than not, on its release date. I found that it is more accurate than some sites on this.
Does anyone know anything about this site? Is it reliable? Accurate? Certainly seems like a lot of work went into it.
25 movies a year? What did people do?
