Does this movie sound familiar to anyone?

I'm typing this on behalf of my mother. I just told her how you guys were able to get the title of that horror movie for me so she wants me to ask if any of you recognize this movie...

She saw it in the 60's, but it could of been made before that. She thinks it was either 50s or 60s. She can't remember if it's in black & white or in color.

Here is the plot as she remembers it:

It's about a group of people who were shipwrecked and landed on an island with volcanoes. The natives that lived there would have this ritual ceremony where they would sacrifice a young virgin to the volcano.

She remembers that one of the men who was shipwrecked fell in love with one of the girls and rescued her before she could jump into the volcano.

Does this sound familiar at all to any of you?

Bird of Paradise, 1951 or 1932 version. Here's the description of the original:

Quote:
A young man (Joel McCrea) falls overboard and is saved by a beautiful Polynesian girl (Dolores Del Rio). They fall in love, but their idyll is smashed when the local volcano begins to erupt. The man discovers that the local custom is to sacrifice a young woman to the volcanic gods. They try to escape but realize that "east is east and west is west, and never the twin shall meet."
