Wow, sounds like the film is going to be everything I hoped for and more. It's about time somebody did something about the adventure genre. Glad to hear about the thematic approach as well.

Wish Caleb Deschanel was the Cinematographer for this movie

Instead, it's shot by Dean Semler, who did Dances With Wolves, Waterworld, xXx, The Alamo and Stealth, among other films.
Mel does re-team with James Horner for the music, after The Man Without A Face and Braveheart.

Re: APOCALYPTO --- Mel Gibson's Latest
Aside from the lack of pronoun agreement, I think the poster looks great.
The dripping blood from the knife is an interesting touch.

Re: APOCALYPTO --- Mel Gibson's Latest
Is Mel Gibson trying to be like M Night Shyamalan and have his name in the title ?

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm, there's a golden cloud, and the sweet silver song of a lark,
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain, Though your dreams may be tossed and blown,
Walk on, Walk on, with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone,
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!!

Re: APOCALYPTO --- Mel Gibson's Latest
Considering the subject matter and the language barrier, Gibson's name is probably the publicity dept.'s hook for audiences.
Political correctness has decimated the English language. I remember how frustrated I've gotten at professors that have circled the singular general "he" and imposed the grammatically distasteful so-called "singular they" in its place.

Re: APOCALYPTO --- Mel Gibson's Latest
and according to MCN it's complete bullshit, plus Friedman had a huge grudge against Gibson and Passion of the Christ, having already prejudged that movie and the man long before it was released in theatres.
